Egottor Solidarity From Japan For CHT

Egottor Solidarity From Japan For CHT

For a long time, Jumma Indigenous brothers and sisters, both at home and abroad, have been raising a common demand through rallies, protests, and meetings at our indigenous parties. That is for ‘Unity’ (Egottor), which is a crucial element in our collective struggle for recognition and rights.

During our protest in front of the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo on October 2, 2024, I asked two genuine friends of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Sayaka and Tom, about their thoughts on uniting all Jumma Indigenous parties to work together for peace and justice. They both wholeheartedly agreed, stressing that unity is essential to achieving Indigenous rights in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

Later, they stood together holding placards with the message of ‘Unity’ (Egottor). On behalf of Japan, they expressed their solidarity with the movement. Their support, along with many others globally, shows that this cause is not just local. It’s part of a worldwide struggle for justice. Though they are famous and busy, their commitment to this cause shines through.

It’s crucial that we stand together and united in our cause. I really hope that the Indigenous brothers and sisters of the Chittagong Hill Tracts will accept this open letter and continue the fight for unity and justice.
